Classification Of Accounts
Accounts are of three types namely..
1. Personal Account
2. Real Account
3. Nominal Account
1. Personal Account : Personal A/c are those a/c which are related to firms, institutions, company, individual etc. Example: Rahim and Co., HDFC Bank, Neeraj club, Furniture and Mart etc.
2. Real Account: Real Account are those a/c which are related to assets. Example: Cash balance, Bank balance, stock-in-trade, Building etc.
3. Nominal Account : Nominal a/c are those a/c which are related to gain ,loss, expenses and profit. Example : Purchase a/c, Sales a/c, Salary a/c, Rent a/c.
Double Entry System: In Double Entry System of accounting we follow the dual concepts . In dual concepts we have two aspects Debit and Credit.
Following are some examples of Personal, Real and Nominal a/c :
Sales a/c : Nominal A/c
Purchase a/c : Nominal A/c
Cash a/c : Real A/c
Bank a/c : Real A/c
Furniture a/c : Real A/c
Ram and co. : Personal A/c
HDFC : Personal A/c
Abc and Co. : Personal A/c
Cane Furniture : Personal A/c
Das and co. : Personal A/c
ICICI BANK : Personal A/c
Building : Real A/c
